Please note Vermont is the only state in the country that does not have a concealed carry permitting or licensing program. There is no permit you can apply for.
There are a few noteworthy implications.
- Vermont is a “constitutional carry” state. You can carry concealed, within the boundaries of state law, without any permit or license.
- Since Vermont doesn’t issue a permit of any form Vermont residents need to obtain a non-resident permit from a different state if they wish to carry concealed in other states outside of Vermont which require a permit with reciprocity. We recommend the Virginia Non-Resident permit to Vermont residents both because of the ease of applying for and the cost of getting it.
